You have to engage.

Engaged by necessity here.  That's one
of the reasons why we do it though, the full focus required.

By now everyone has probably noticed a trend of making something good happen in a bad situation. This is no doubt part of being a "weekend warrior" but it has been especially prevalent this winter. It is no secret that winter this year in Utah was quite different than usual. It is easy to think there will be future days when the snow/ice is better, when you are less tired, and are in possession of fewer obligations. What can you do?

You have to engage.

I have heard it said as "the time is now", and it often is as simple as that. Take the situation for what it is and move on.

Spending time on the same old classic... but you know I think
it is loved for a reason, no matter the conditions.

So what do you do when it is to warm for mixed climbing?
We re-rally for the a limestone mecca.

"And that is what training does for you my friend!"

Definitely to warm for ice...

One of the best odes to getting 'er done was said by Dave Macleod.

Beware the focused weekend warrior. At their best they can be among the fittest and most gritty athletes out there. They know exactly what they want, they know their resources and abilities really well and their time is precious, so they're gonna get that next hold because they can't come back tomorrow for another try."

After working two jobs to fund it, studying and learning the necessary skills,
and traveling cross country during summer vacation, at the age of 15
I summited Mt. Rainer for the first time. Now that is getting it done!
